When we last heard from Redfox, we were told that the Wizpad Tablet was supposed to make its Philippine debut last month. Today, however, we learned that the supposed Apple iPad killer-slash-Samsung Galaxy Tab contender is still on “coming soon” status and has “officially recommended” Windows 7.
Back in July, Redfox Technologies general manager John Macasio said that they can preload the Wizpad with Android, Windows 7 Home Premium, MeeGo, or even Google Chrome OS. Which is why picking Windows 7 as its OS of choice is a big deal.
Does this mean the other 3 OSes are no longer on the table? Too bad, because truth be told, the choice of OS was the biggest thing the Wizpad had going for it. Hope REDFOX considers to offer Android dual-boot options a la the new Acer netbooks.
That big complaint aside, the ad reveals that the Wizpad is capable of full HD playback and sports a capacitive multitouch display (which looks like a 7-incher) so at least we know that it’s no iPed. The webcam’s resolution has also been pegged at 1.3 megapixels.
Delays, delays, delays. Oh well, at least we’re hearing from Redfox, unlike ASUS which is still keeping mum on the 9-inch Eee Pad.
